Triple tragedy for Hoey family

A very sad triple bereavemen­t in one family occurred last week, when a father and two married daughters died within two days.

Mr. Thomas Hoey, an aged man, living at Stalaban, Drogheda, died at 1 p.m. on Tuesday last, and at 6 p.m. the same evening his daughter, Mrs. Bridget Carroll, wife of John Carroll, Knagshead, Naul, and the mother of six children, passed away to the great grief of her bereaved husband, children and other relatives. The next evening, Wednesday, at 8 p.m., the death occurred of Mrs. Carroll’s sister, Mrs. Walsh, of Brackensto­wn_, Swords, who leaves a husband and eight young children to mourn her loss.

Mr. Hoey_’s funeral took place to the New Cemetery, Drogheda, on Thursday, and the other two funerals took place on Friday, Mrs. Carroll being interred in Hollywood cemetery and Mrs. Walsh in Swords cemetery.

They were all largely attended, testifying to the general sorrow which was occasioned by such a sad occurrence.
