Given the times that we are now enduring, please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences and ideas on how you are coping or helping others to cope, through these most surreal, life changing times. Ok, we are all social media junkies at the moment, but the printed word, for posterity, will be a much better reference point when, please God, we are all trying to make sense of this time, in the years to come. Below are some pieces that came to my mind, but your contribution, on how this epidemic is effecting your lives in Monasterboice would be most welcome.. We’ll keep them anonymous unless otherwise requested. Paddy Holdcroft on 0862039501 or paddyholdcroft @gmail.com. Keep up the good work, safely.

MESSAGE FROM NAOMH MAIRTIN.

We at Naomh Mairtin C.P.G. have been anxious to recommence our weekly Club Lotto draw for Members & weekly Ticket purchases, so given the COVID-19 1st Phase easing of certain restrictions, we have restarted our weekly draws from Wednesday 27th May (adhering to social distancing & numbers gathered to facilitate draw oversight).

Our last Draw was on 11/03/20 & with no Match 4 entries that night the Jackpot Prize has now moved to €15,400. (There were 3 “Match 3” winning entries who shared €150 Cash).

As there has been no Draw due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions & general travel / meeting restrictions since then there was, on recommencement a once off Special Cash Prize on offer of €1,000 to be won/shared by Match 3 entries, if main Jackpot wasn’t won on the night.

This Cash Prize was in recognition for all our lotto players who have prepaid their Lotto entries through Club Membership & Online Ticket purchases as well as the physical tickets which were sold and are being held securely for the next draw to take place.

Club Lotto tickets can be purchased online; https://play. clubforce.com/play_newa.asp? or in any other the following Shop locations in our Community: Tenure Stores or the local post office.

As you are aware, we are planning on completing our All-Weather Pitch construction in 2020 & now that we have full planning approval and Sports Grant award, we are busy in discussions with relevant bodies as to when we might be able to begin these works. As part of our financing for the project, in addition to the Grant Award & Club Funds on hand, we will be sourcing remaining funds through borrowings.

Club supporters and members are asked to complete your 2020 season Club membership ASAP as along with membership / lotto incomes verifying Club’s ongoing cash flow and repayment capacity for the development loan for the All Weather pitch development, any surplus funds for 2020 may in turn be used for other Club Development works planned for, such as Lighting for the Club 1km Walking Track in due course.

PARISH NOTES FROM FR PADDY

Trocaire have asked people to donate online instead of sending in boxes (no parish is going to be able to take them/count them for a couple of months, I suspect). See Trocaire.org for info.

Understandably people are probably facing all kinds of financial hardship - so while our parish is not encouraging any ‘giving’ at this time, many people have asked about how to give...

So, out BIC & IBAN is published on the bulletin (available in both churches and Mulroy’s shop and Tenure stores), if people want to donate online (use either name or bulletin number as reference).

Also Armagh Archdiocese has set up an online system for all parishes - at Diocesan Level - detail will be in this week’s bulletin and posted on Social media in coming weeks!

Mass will be broadcast each Saturday night at 630pm from Fieldstown Church, and night prayer at 10om on the Parish Facebook Page!

Fr. Paddy & Parish Pastoral Council send best wishes to all parishioners - and if anyone needs anything, do get in touch. the parish email is monasterboiceparish2018@gmail.com)
