Harmon Rangers 3 Boync Rovers 5

Harmon Rangers and Boyne Boyne figured in a highscoring game before the latter emerged winners by 5-3. Fortunes swayed throughout this match and if the losers had accepted the chanccs offered them, there could have been a shock result. However, the Rovers went into a 5-1 lead in the second half, but in a strong finish the Rangers reduced the leeway with two late goals.

Scorers for the winners were P. Malone, D. Murray, P. O’Neill, P. Garry and S. Lynch. For Harman, B. Coyle, 2; and L. O’Neill.

Chord Celtic 3 Mell Celtic 0

Mell Celtic, the holders, came a bad cropper to Chord Celtic, who won easily by 3-nil. The high wind blowing throughout this match had a spoiling effect as Mell could never get a grip on the game whereas Celtic overcame all the elements to play some grand football and finish worthy winners. Goalscorers were J. Clarke, P. Meehan and P. Harte.

Brookville 2 Glen Hearts 1

Congress Celtic 5 Duleek 1

Congress Celtic were very impressive winners of their “B” Division match when taking full points from Duleek by winning 5.1.

J.F 2 McDonnells 1

The losers after their great show in the previous week when accounting for C.I.E. crashed badly when losing to J.F. by the odd goal in three in a poor encounter.

L O C M. 0 Stcvcnsons 4

Stevensons were clearly the superior side when accounting for I.O.C.M. by four clear goals. This was a grand all round display by the winners, who, on this showing should figure in the final shake up for honours in the Factory League. In J. Woodhead, they had the outstanding player on the field and their goalscorers were J. Stapleton 2, J. Carton and J. Quinlan.

A.O.H. Virginians 3 Marsh Celtic 3
