CORONAVIRUS.

The national situation continues to improve but we are by no means out of the crisis.

Already we are seeing Coronavirus taking a hold again in some countries so we must continue with social distancing and comply with any guidelines no matter where we go. Face masks will also help. We are seeing some things getting back to normal but we cannot be complacent.

CHURCH CEREMONIES.

With the setting up of a Parish “Covid19 Response Team” to oversee the implication of guidelines for a safe return to public worship, both Churches are compliant and ready for public worship beginning on Friday July 3rd.

With reduced capacity in both Churches it will not be possible to attend Mass like before the March closures.

Irish bishops have suspended the Sunday obligation indefinitely, which means you can attend Mass on any day to fulfil Sunday duty. The Parish Pastoral Council has devised a schedule covering Friday evening to Monday evening to accommodate the “Sunday Mass”.

The Parish is divided into 5 areas and Parishioners are asked to attend the particular Mass assigned to that area. These areas and a map which are colour coded relating to the particular Masses are contained in a newsletter which will be posted into every Parish household prior to July 3rd.

Masses from the Church of the Immaculate Conception which will also be live streamed are on Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 11.30am, please note the change of time for Sunday Mass.

The Masses from the Church of the Assumption in Sandpit are on Sunday at 9.30am and Monday evening at 8pm. Please do not attend on any day you are feeling unwell. Churches will be sanitised after each Mass. Social distancing will apply while entering and exiting, as well as in the church. Stewards will be available to assist and please cooperate with them and follow their instructions at all times . Please sanitise your hands on entering and exiting the Church and hand sanitising points will be clearly marked.

Church capacity will be greatly reduced with every second pew closed off for social distancing. Available seating will be clearly marked. Face coverings may be worn if desired. Distribution of Holy Communion will be at the end of Mass as you exit the Church.

It is hoped to accommodate Months Minds and First Anniversaries on Tuesday and

Wednesday evenings at 8.00pm rather than on the weekends due to reduced capacity. Masses on Tuesday and Wednesday that are neither Months Minds or First Anniversaries, will continue online via the webcam –www.termonfechinparish.

There is morning Mass this week from Monday to Wednesday at 9.30am via the internet and no Mass on Thursday.

It is expected to hold First Holy Communion and Confirmation ceremonies after Schools return in September though this will mean a number of ceremonies over a period of a few weeks, again due to reduced capacity. Individual baptisms can be celebrated with Parents and Godparents only and small weddings may happen. The number of people allowed to attend a Funeral is no more than 25. There will be no Cemetery Sunday in August but graves will be blessed privately.

CREDIT UNION.

The Credit Union office remains open every Friday from 3pm to 7pm. Why not apply online for your next loan or make an appointment to meet one of our officers, officeadmin@termonfeckincu.

The Car Park at Seapoint Beach is certainly in use again and last Thursday around 2.30pm it was a case of drive in and drive out again as there were no spaces. Looking towards the mouth of the Boyne and then towards Ganderstown, there were many sun and sea enthusiasts taking full advantage of the beautiful day. While it is great to see the beach getting plenty of use, we must continue to adhere to social distancing.
