IT’S the start of another exciting chapter of Amie Dyer’s life, and last weekend she was given a proper send-off by some of her most loyal fans.

At a small presentation function in the d Hotel, the Drogheda Male Voice Choir committee honoured their very own soprano with a lovely surprise, when they made a donation to her Musical Studies Fund and also presented her with a beautiful pictorial Book as a memento of sharing happy times, on and off stage.

In making the donation to further Amie’s continued Musical Studies, Drogheda Male Voice Choir chairman Tommy Finnegan, reflected on their many collaborations.

‘We in the choir are extremely fortunate to have struck up an affinity with such an excellent singer and lovely person,’ said Tommy. ‘I wish Amie well, on behalf of all the DMVC members, in the next stage of her music educational studies and assure her of the choir’s continued support into the future’.

He said that since she was a very young girl, she has given dedicated service to both in making herself available consistently to sing at all services.

‘Her lovely demeanour and beautiful voice is also a consoling feature to the loved ones of bereaved family members when she sings at their funeral services,’ said David, ‘We send Amie off with our love and best wishes and look forward to the time when she returns to continue to perform with us and enthral our audiences with her beautiful singing’.

The final word for the evening was left to an emotional Amie.

‘I’m so overwhelmed with the love and support from you all. I have enjoyed so much, all the fun we’ve had together,’ she said, as she accepted the gifts. ‘I’m so grateful to David Leddy and the DMVC for the wonderful opportunities you have given me. Indeed, I’m looking forward to many more concerts with
