Packed congregation for St Magdalen’s Triduum

Impressive scenes of reverence devotion and solemnity were witnesscd in St. Magdalen’s Dominican Church, Drogheda. last week ( Wednesday) for the closing of the special Triduum in honour of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady.
Since the ceremonies began on last Sunday, the church was packed to overflowing each night. Special preacher during the Triduum was Rev. D. B. McCourt O.P., St. Magdalen’s, and last night he led the vast congregation in the recitation of An Act of Faith and Dedication to Our Blessed Lady’s Assumption.
The solemn recitation was made with lighted candles. Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament was imparted by Verv Rev. C. Courtney, O.P., Prior assisted by Rev. J. Dowdall, OP as deacon, and Rev. Father Morrissey, O.P., as sub-deacon. On yesterday morning hundreds attended the General Communion at the 8 o’clock Mass, and during the day crowds visited the Church for the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
