The death took place on Monday at his home in Canada of former British Army Major D. H. Coddington.

Major Coddington, the former owner of the Oldbridge Estate near Drogheda, was 75 years of age and had been ill for the past two years.

He had been a member of the old Boyne Fishery Board and was a central figure in the local fish-ins in the late sixties.

Major Coddington returned to Oldbridge in 1945 and had been living there until three years ago when he emigrated to Canada

Major Coddington, who will be buried in Canada, is survived by his widow, Joan; son, Nicholas, and daughter-inlaw, Katherine.

The Oldbridge Estate was sold recently for £900,000 to local pig breeder Mr. Jack Marry.
