-

EIGHT Broadband points have been established in the region where locals be able to connect to hi-speed broadband.

In Louth, the points are at Port beach, Clogherhead Pier, Mattock Rangers GAA club in Collon, Annaghminnon Rovers GAA club in Stonetown and Killanny GAA club. There’s also a service at Templetown beach in north Louth.

There are also centres at Teach Raithneach Heritage & Cultural Centre at Broomfield near Collon and at the Meath Hill Community Centre.

TD Fergus O’Dowd said “This is the first batch of completed sites which have been delivered by Vodafone Ireland and the NBI, we have been very lucky in County Louth to secure 6 of the first 51 sites to be connected nationwide. They will provide communities with free highspeed internet access at publicly-accessible sites under the Government’s new Connected Communities initiative.

‘We must continue to provide better availability to our communities,’ he added.
