Join in fifth anniversary party for local LGBTQ
IT’S hard to imagine that just five years ago, there was no support group for people in the LGBTQ community.
This Thursday sees the fifth anniversary of the
Drogheda LGBTQ Support and Social Group, which was set up on October 15th 2015 by Peter James Nugent.
Since then, Drogheda has seen more LGBTQI youth and adults express themselves and feel safe in Drogheda.
‘Over the last five years,
Drogheda has seen Pride Parade in the community which last year was the highlight as it was Drogheda’s first ever
Pride Parade in Drogheda, but sadly, due to COVID, has had to be cancelled this year,’ says Peter James.
‘As we approached our fifth birthday on Thursday, we will have some birthday wishes to share with you from our friends around Ireland some known international level’.
Unforetunately, Drogheda LGBTQ Support and Social Group’s weekly support group every Thursday evening in the Barbican Centre has had to be postponed due to the pandemic, but you can still join them on Facebook and Instagram for more information on weekly support which will continue throughout COVID 19.
Join in the conversation and celebrations on their social media platforms Drogheda LGBTQ Support and Social Group.
