Businesses battling back against COVID
HOTELS, cafes, restaurants, takeaways and the rest have had to learn to reinvent how they do business to survive in these uncertain times.
With Level 3 restrictions kicking in last week, many had to close their doors to customers - but still managed to keep the doors open.
Some have taken to develop ing outdoor dining experiences, but that comes with a warning - bring a coat!
Others have taken to opening hatches and developing a drink on the go attitude.
Pubs with space at the rear have turned them into adapted outside bars - restricted to 15 punters at a time.
That attitude has helped many to keep staff employed, but for some, they just don’t have the space to cater for people.
The coming weeks and months will see this struggle between staying open and how financially viable that is and ongoing, rolling closures test the resolve of so many people.
One thing is certain, getting behind those that continue to stay open - be they on West Street in Drogheda, the main street in Slane, Castle Street in Ardee or in the heart of Clogherhead, Bettystown and Dunleer - will be vital.
