Cllrs should combine funding
PICTURED above is the entrance to Castle View in Clogherhead.
It has been like this for years and the road gets even worse further into the estate.
The matter has been brought up at various times down the years.
Bottom line, the estate has not been taken in charge by the council and there’s no funding to do the work.
It will cost about €35,000. The thing is, there will never be any funding, unless councillors start doing things a little bit differently.
In Mid Louth, the councillors group their €65,000 discretionary budget to fund bigger tasks.
Recently, a laneway in Beechwood Drive, Dunleer was surfaced for the first time ever.
Could the councillors in Drogheda group their funding and put three major projects on it each year.
Then Castle View could be done without a fuss....
