JOHN BRUTON RIP

Sincere sympathy to the Bruton and extended Bruton Family and to all who are bereaved by the passing of John Bruton RIP., former TD for Meath, and former Taoiseach. John Bruton was a great help to Broomfield and District Residents Association in the early days of the Association. He visited the area on the Associations invitation on a number of occasions, bringing Association Members around the District in his Red Toyota Carina at the time, giving advice and support where he could. Taoiseach John Bruton officially opened Broomfield and District Festival Week 1995 on Sunday 16th July at 6.30pm during the Cross Road Ceili at Newtownfortescue Cross, Grangegeeth.

There is a plaque in Teach Raithneach commemorating this momentous occasion. On the occasion, An Taoiseach presented Kathleen Clarke RIP (the oldest Resident in the District at the time) with a bouquet of flowers. Kathleen was a great supporter of John Bruton. An Taoiseach’s driver on the day was Stackallan native Garda Tom Mongey, who incidentally won an All-Ireland Junior Medal with Meath in 1962. May John Bruton former TD., Taoiseach, and Statesman Rest in Peace. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis!

SINCERE SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy to the Reid and extended Reid Family and to all who are bereaved by the recent passing of Sally Reid RIP., Belpatrick. A great supporter of all things GAA, especially Mattock Rangers, where her late husband Damien and her two sons David and Adrian played with distinction. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam dilis.
