Plans Unveiled for Drogheda Digital Hub and “Boyne Innovate” a Pre-Start-Up training and support programme in due to commence in May
Drogheda is set to become a focal point for innovation and entrepreneurship with the unveiling of ambitious plans for the Drogheda Digital Hub, an initiative led by Louth County Council’s Local Enterprise Office.
This innovative incubation space is aimed at nurturing the next generation of tech pioneers and innovators.
In advance of this development, the launch of the ‘Boyne Innovate’ a pre-startup training and support programme is expected to kick off in the coming weeks, marking a significant milestone in the town’s journey towards fostering a culture of innovation and economic growth.
The Drogheda Digital Hub will serve as a dynamic hub for collaboration, creativity, and innovation, providing innovative entrepreneurs, digital start-ups, and creatives with the workspace, resources and support they need to get started. Situated in the heart of Drogheda’s Narrow West Street, the hub will offer state-of-the-art facilities, including co-working spaces, meeting rooms, event spaces, and cutting-edge technology infrastructure, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration. The Drogheda Digital Hub building is currently in the process of being developed and should be ready to open their doors in late 2024.
At the core of the Drogheda Digital Hub initiative is the ‘Boyne Innovate’ prestart-up training and support programme, designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and support necessary to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses. The programme will leverage internationally proven innovation development methodologies that will be delivered by the hugely experienced team of certified development coaches at the Regional Development Centre at DkIT. Through a comprehensive curriculum, mentorship opportunities, and access to industry experts, participants will gain invaluable insights into the intricacies of starting and scaling a business, empowering them to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape with confidence. The initial programme will run from The Mill Enterprise Centre.
“We are thrilled to announce the development of the Drogheda Digital Hub and the launch of the Boyne Innovate pre-startup training programme in Drogheda,” said Fionnuala Rogers, Louth County Council’s Programme Manager at Drogheda Digital Hub.
