BETTYSTOWN TIDY TOWNS

If you’d like to get involved message us on Facebook and Instagram @bettystown_tidytowns or come along and meet us in the village on Saturday mornings between 9 and 11am.

A big thank you for the fantastic support from two local businesses today. Jayne from Anagenic Hair Design gave Easter eggs to our youth volunteers. Relish Cafe treated us all to teas and coffees and their fantastic view of the beach.

ACTIVATOR POLE WALKING

This was such a great morning when we first launched it and I’m delighted to see it return!

Suitable for people who have balance concerns or mobility issues but want to fitness walk. The poles are used in a forward position, provide stability, support and confidence to people worried about their balance.

The 6- week programme will be held in 3 locations:

Wilkinstow­n Greenway Doughty’s Park Beo – Monday April 8th at 11:30am

Blackwater Park Navan – Thursday April 11th at 11am

Laytown Beach – Friday April 12th at 11am

SEAVIEW TERRACE ROAD CLOSURE

Notice of Extension of Temporary Road Closure of Seaview Terrace (L-56329-1), Bettystown, Co. Meath. Meath County Council has made an order for an extension to the temporary road closure of Seaview Terrace (L56329-1) Bettystown to facilitate the continued constructi­on of the

Bettystown Library & Community Building

The closure will be on Seaview Terrace (L-56329-1) from its junction with the Coast Road (R-151) to Seaview Terrace, Bettystown. This closure was due to be completed on the 31 January 2024 and will now be extended from 31 January until the 30 April 2024 for 24 hrs. per day. Alternativ­e Routes- No diversions necessary. Access for residents and property holders will be facilitate­d throughout the closure period.

St. Colmcille’s are thrilled to announce that Gaelic for All will resume this Saturday morning 6th April in Colmcilles at 11am. Gaelic for All is in its 7th year now. It is not your typical sports group. It’s a welcoming space for all children, regardless of their abilities, to come together and enjoy the fun and activity of sport and simply having fun.

It’s not about football; it’s about inclusivit­y, camaraderi­e, and, most importantl­y, fun!

morning at the car park outside the Coast Tavern from 10 am. to spruce up different areas of our village. There are a wide variety of jobs to be done around the village, so if you would like to join in, even occasional­ly, you would be more than welcome.

LAYTOWN BEACH PARKRUN

You may ask just what is Laytown Beach Parkrun? It’s a free, fun and friendly weekly 5k community event and you can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate – it’s all up to you. It takes place every Saturday at 9.30 am at Laytown Beach, Strand Road, Corballis, Laytown. What’s the cost? Absolutely nothing, it’s free, but please register before you first come along. You only ever need to register once with parkrun, but don’t forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode, as you need it to get a tie. The is an event to enjoy so you can come along and join in at whatever pace you like. This event is entirely organised by volunteers – email laytownbea­ch@parkrun.com if you would like to help out. We’re friendly! Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee at Gilna’s, The Cottage Inn – please come and join us! (Don’t forget to dispose of your coffee cup responsibl­y).

LAYTOWN UNITED FC

Laytown United have put out a call for boots, which are in good condition, and that maybe you have outgrown. The Club have come up with a great initiative to collect them and then resell them. It will mean that all children will have access to boots and will save parents a pretty penny! If you would like to donate your old boots, just drop them into the club house shop at the weekend.

PUGWASH BAY MORNINGTON

Pugwash children were all invited to celebrate Autism Awareness Day and they had a dress up day with face painting and a disco dance party. The theme for the day was superhero and superpower­s. The staff here are very innovative and really go the extra mile to encourage children to be aware of what is happening around them.
