CELEBRATING IRISH HOME COOKS

As Ireland’s No.1 food magazine, Easy Food has always been a champion of home cooking and their annual Home-Cook Hero Awards cooking competition, sponsored by Kenwood, has become a much-loved event in the Irish foodie calendar.

Hand-picked from thousands of recipe entries, 24 finalists from across the country cook for a panel of celebrity judges in a Dublin cookery school, with the aim of ultimately being crowned a Home-Cook Hero. Some of the recipes have been passed down in their families for generations, while others were quick-fix creations that have become hits in their households.

The competition is divided into eight categories, and two special winners were also selected for the top honours of Best Cooking Skills and Easy Food Dish of the Year. Check out all the recipes here, and try them for yourself to bring a bit of authentic Irish cooking into your home!
