“Last year I entered a residentia­l facility for treatment of depression and the eating disorder I had been battling for eight years. Six weeks later, I baked my first banana bread, using my own recipe. Back at home I continued baking for others and, eventually, the day came when I was able to taste my handiwork: the banana bread. The past year has been difficult, but regaining my love of baking has given me hope that I can take back everything else I have lost. This recipe represents my ongoing journey to recovery, and how far I’ve already come.”
