WWETB is a statu­tory body which has re­spon­si­bil­ity for Ed­u­ca­tion, Train­ing and Youth Work pro­vi­sion through­out the Coun­ties of Water­ford and Wex­ford sup­port­ing a pop­u­la­tion of 260,000 peo­ple.

Water­ford and Wex­ford Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing Board ( WWETB) was formed in 2013 as a re­sult of the ETB Act 2013 which saw the amal­ga­ma­tion of County Wex­ford VEC, County Water­ford VEC and City of Water­ford VEC. In July 2014, the train­ing side was com­pleted with the in­te­gra­tion of the Train­ing ser­vices from FÁS to SOLAS and fi­nally to WWETB.

WWETB de­liv­ers Post Pri­mary ed­u­ca­tion through its 13 schools, 8 of which are lo­cated in the County of Wex­ford. These in­clude Bridgetown Col­lege, Sel­skar Col­lege, Coláiste an Átha, Creagh Col­lege, Bun­clody Vo­ca­tional Col­lege, En­nis­cor­thy Vo­ca­tional Col­lege, Kennedy Col­lege and Coláiste Ab­bain. A broad cur­ricu­lum is on of­fer at each Col­lege at both Ju­nior and Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate lev­els. In ad­di­tion, Post Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate cour­ses (PLC) are of­fered at most of the Col­leges.

Fur­ther Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing of­fers learn­ers ac­cess to a broad range of qual­i­fi­ca­tions rang­ing from Level 1 – Level 6 on Na­tional Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Frame­work. These cour­ses are of­fered through the 24 FET Cen­tres lo­cated through­out the coun­ties of Water­ford and Wex­ford

WWETB have two Train­ing Cen­tres which cater for both craft and new ap­pren­tice­ships. In ad­di­tion, WWETB of­fer a broad range of Trainee­ships and spe­cific skills train­ing in these cen­tres.

An ex­ten­sive range of out­door ed­u­ca­tion, In­clud­ing on-site train­ing, is pro­vided through their spe­cial­ist cen­tre in Shiel­bag­gan.

WWETB is re­spon­sive to the needs of the com­mu­ni­ties and em­ploy­ers across the two coun­ties. They are as­sisted in this task by many ex­ter­nal stake­hold­ers in­clud­ing the Re­gional Skills Fo­rum, Wex­ford County Coun­cil, Lo­cal Com­mu­nity De­vel­op­ment Com­mit­tee, Re­gional Ac­tion Plan for Jobs, Depart­ment of So­cial Pro­tec­tion and Wex­ford Cham­ber among oth­ers.

Youth Ser­vices across the two coun­ties are sup­ported by our Youth Of­fi­cers.
