Bree Utd invite all boys and girls from ages under-nine to under-16 in Bree Parish and surrounding areas to our Mini World Cup at the pitch in Macmine on Saturday, July 7, from midday to 5 p.m. Barbecue, music and plenty of fun guaranteed. CLONMORE CHURCH
A Clonmore Church Fundraiser will take place on Sunday next, July 8, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Bree Community Center. Cake Stall, bottle stall, Plant and Produce Stall plus lots more. Tea or coffee €3. Your support would be appreciated.
CELTIC ROOTS
A full Irish show in association with Celtic Roots will begin in Bree Hall on Tuesday, July 10. Tea and scones are served at 8.30 p.m. and the night’s entertainment begins at 9 p.m. with music, song, dance and storytelling. Admission is €10 for adults with concessions for children and groups. Ballybrennan Patron will be on Friday, July 20, at 7.30 p.m. Bree Patron will be on Sunday, August 19, commencing in Clonmore at 1.30 p.m., Bree New Cemetery 2 p.m., Bree Old Cemetery 2.30 p.m. and concluding with Benediction in the church.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Well done to the Bree Davidstown Cloughbawn Community Games athletes who competed in the Co Finals recently. The area got off to a great start with Jayden Kenny winning the U10 60mHurdles. Other winners and qualifiers for the Nationals in August were Hazel Breen U8 60m, James Wall U10 200m, Abbie Doyle, U12 100m, Gracie Kehoe U12 600m, Leah Nolan U14 100m and Cian McCormack U14 Shot .
The area was represented in six relays and won four. Winners were the U12 Girls team of Abbie Doyle, Gracie Kehoe, Ella Doyle, Maura Doyle, Leah Sinnott, Kiera Wilson: U12 Boys team of Bill Blyth, Harry Devereux, Oscar Redmond, Charlie Kehoe and Conor Ryan; U14 Girls team of Grace Donohoe, Yvonne Hennebry, Emer Kerwick, Leah Nolan and Amy Doyle: U16 Boys of Cillian Doyle, Liam Doyle, David Hennebry, Leon Sinnott, Darragh Kehoe and Shane Kehoe.
Runners up on the day and narrowly missing out on the National Finals were Ruth Hassey U8 60m, Ava Wilson U8 80m, Cathal Ennis U12 600m, Grace Donohoe U14 Javelin and Sophie Codd U16 100m as well as U10 Mixed Relay Team of PJ Breen, Jayden Kenny, Ella Furlong, Chloe Doyle, James Wall and Meave Hennebry and Girls U16 team of Sophie Codd, Donna Delahunty, Lucy Kehoe, Jessica Wickham and Jessica Blyth. Bronze medal winners were Darragh Doyle U8 80m, Maura Doyle U12 600m, Harry Devereux U10 100m and Oisin Rochford U14 100m. Well done to all involved. The area also won Best Banner in the Parade.
BREE AC
Bree AC was well represented at the Mr Oil Co B Championships in Enniscorthy Hub recently. Many of these young athletes were competing on a tartan track for their first time. Bree AC results were as follows:
