Bunclody Market is honoured to be a big part of the second Bunclody Festival which is taking place on Saturday, July 21, and Sunday, July 22, Bunclody Market will be open on both days of the festival in St Aidan’s Hall in Irish Street from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. serving tea or coffee and delicious Homemade Produce along with our wonderful stallholde­rs who will have a great selection of crafts from signs, knitwear, local honey, jam, fresh strawberri­es, veg, flowers, candles, books, cards, crochet, soaps, jewellery, bath bombs, art and lots more.

STREAMS OF BUNCLODY FESTIVAL

The Streams of Bunclody Festival 2018 takes place from Friday, July 20, to Sunday, July 22. There are vacancies for Buskers to perform in the town on Saturday, July 21, volunteers are required for Stewards to assist with the running of the festival. PARISH PATRONS

The annual patron will take place in Kilmyshall.

The annual Parish Patron will take place in Bunclody on Friday, July 27, blessing of graves in Old Cemetery at 7 p.m. Calvary Cemetery: Holy Mass in Calvary Cemetery at 8 p.m.

If you have knowledge of anyone who may be buried in an unmarked grave in the Old Cemetery, please contact Barbara-Anne Murphy at 087 6736966.

The patron in Kilmyshall will take place on Friday, July 20, with blessing of the Graves Old Kilmeashal Graveyard, Ryland Hill 7.30 p.m. and Kilmyshall Churchyard 7.45 p.m.

BUNCLODY VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

The next Bunclody Vocational College split-the-pot draw takes place on Friday, July 13, Envelopes are available in Bunclody Credit Union, Bunclody VC, Eurospar, Ken Rothwell, O’Reilly’s SuperValu and Steemers’ Newsagents. We thank you for your continued support.

RUMMAGE SALE

A mini fundraiser to raise funds to purchase a ‘Buddy Bench’ for Kilmyshall National School which will take place each Saturday in July – that includes July 7, 14, 21, 22 (Bunclody Festival) and 28 at the local Bunclody Market from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. in St Aidan’s Hall, Irish Street, where we will have a wide variety of items from books, DVDs, toys, bric-à-brac and lots more, plenty of bargains with prices starting from 50c, €1, €2 etc why not pop in and have a good rummage and grab a bargain while also helping us fundraise for a Buddy Bench. A Buddy Bench is somewhere you can go and sit if you are feeling a little bit lonely especially if you are after starting a new school and are feeling a little bit overwhelme­d and for each child to know they are not the only one feeling that way. We want to encourage confidence in every child that attends Kilmyshall National School. We will also be holding a raffle with tickets on sale each Saturday and with the draw for the raffle taking place on Saturday, July 28.

BUNCLODY SWIMMING POOL

Bunclody Swimming Pool is open for the 2018 summer season. Admission fees: summer Family Membership. €120 (two adults and max four children under 16. €20 Per child thereafter); summer single membership €60; pay as you go – adult €5 per hour; pay as you go – child €3 per hour.

WATER SAFETY WEEK

Water Safety Week at Bunclody Swimming Pool will run from July 30 to August 4. Due to increased numbers pre-registrati­on is required, an online link to book will be posted on our Facebook page beginning of June and there will be forms available from the pool manager. Do not delay, once we reach the maximum number of participan­ts we will not be taking any further enquiries and we will not be accepting registrati­ons on the day.

Informatio­n will be given on low cost/no cost ideas for reducing energy consumptio­n, types of heating systems and grants available for Home Energy Improvemen­ts.

Launch will take place on Wednesday, July 4, at 10.30 with a special visit by wonderful children’s author Caroline Busher. Come along and meet Caroline, who will be available talk about reading and will be giving lots of advice on choosing books. Come in and register for the fantastic summer Reading Adventure.
