Big soccer cup weekend

IT’S A big weekend on the FAI Cup front, with two Wexford clubs in action in Ferrycarrig Park on Friday and Saturday respectively. Wexford F.C. will get the ball rolling when they host Premier Division Bohemians on Friday at 8 p.m., while North End United will be aiming to cause a big upset when they take on Danny Furlong and his Galway United team-mates at the same venue at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

One of the interesting sub-plots will be the attendance figures at both games. Wexford F.C. have a very small support, although the numbers on Friday should be boosted by a healthy Bohs contingent.

However, it’s confidently predicted that there will be more Wexford folk at the North End game than the Friday fixture, given that the non-league side is composed entirely of locals.
