The great run of our Barton Cup side came to an end as we were beaten by a very good Baltinglass side on a 4/1 scoreline. We had a magnificent run throughout the competition, winning five matches, but were just not good enough on the day.

The club would like to thank all of the players and managers who gave up their time over the last four months, and perhaps next year will see us finally making the breakthrough.

The South Leinster side were beaten by Wicklow on a 5/2 scoreline in the last eight of the competition. With four away matches it was always going to be a struggle to get a result from this one. Again, thanks to players and managers who gave up their time.

Split The Pot was won by Ned Conway who collected €107. The next draw is on August 7 after the presentation.

This Tuesday’s fourball is sponsored by members Seán Murphy, Robert Dwyer and Pat Whelan.

This week we have the club classic sponsored by Culcita Garden Furniture. The format is a team of four with two to score on each hole with all players to count on each of the par threes and last hole.

This is our main fundraiser this year and all proceeds will go towards course sanding in September, removal of tree stumps, and essential work on the sewerage system.
