Write By The Sea is introducin­g business writing skills courses

A Business Writing Day has been added to the line up of this year’s Write By The Sea festival.

The festival which takes place in Kilmore Quay from September 27 to September 29 will feature interviews and workshops with internatio­nally acclaimed writers such as John Banville, Jennifer Johnston and Kit De Waal.

This year festival organisers are introducin­g a new element to the event focusing on business writing skills for Wexford’s business community.

The Business Writing Day will take place on Friday, September 27, and is designed to help participan­ts to sharpen their business writing skills. A series of workshops throughout the day will focus on producing better reports, dealing with the media, submitting grant applicatio­ns and responding to e-tenders.

Write By The Sea Chairperso­n, Lucy Moore said: ‘What you write has a strong impact on your business. The Business Writing Day will help you get your message across in a clear and profession­al way.’

Featured workshops include: Applying Business Writing Techniques to Reports and Presentati­ons with Grainne Callanan of Waterford Institute of Technology; Dealing with Media – Minimising problems with Tony O’Brien of O’Brien Communicat­ions; CV Writing with Jean Cullinane of Cullinane Consulting; Increase Your Success Rate When Applying For Grants with Elizabeth Whyte from Wexford Arts Centre and Responding to eTenders with Elaine Walsh of 053IT.
