FIELD DAY REVIEW

The review meeting for the 2018 Craanford Parish Field Day occurred on Thursday evening last, July 26, in Craanford Community Centre. Six people attended. On behalf of the field day committee we extend sincere thanks to sponsors, helpers, ticket sellers and purchasers and those who attended on the day and all who helped in any way. Sadly, the rainy weather did not help our efforts.

Nevertheless, the total amount raised was still a very commendable €9,086.35 This was divided equally between Craanford Community Centre, Craanford Parish, Craanford Vintage, Craanford Development and Craanford Sports Complex each receiving €1,817.27

In the light of extensive on going fundraising in the community the meeting discussed the field day and was of the view that if it is to be successful in coming years it needs a revamp and an injection of new blood bringing fresh ideas and energy. Over the coming months we invite you to reflect on the field day. Is it something you value? Would you like to help in future field days?

We propose to convene an annual general meeting of the field day committee in February of 2019 to take soundings on the fruit of our reflection. All will be welcome. If there is sufficient interest and we decide at that meeting to go ahead we will elect a new chairman and secretary, who will work with the committee to further the project.

Our field day work has been an enjoyable experience and we want to thank everyone for their kindness and help during the years we served as chairman and secretary and wish everyone the best for the future.
