Permission sought for residential care facility

-

PLANNING permission has been sought for the construction of two single storey residential care facilities within the grounds of Summerhill House in Enniscorthy.

The application was made to Wexford County Council by New Dawn Housing Association, a registered charity which aims to provide ordinary living for adults with an intellectual disability in a warm, caring and professional environment.

The charity, with an address listed as Kilurin, Enniscorthy, is aiming to increase services offered at the Enniscorthy site with the new construction and the project will also include alterations and repositioning of existing site access from Nunnery Road, along with additional connections to public services, further planting/ screening of roadside boundaries and allowance for ancillary site works.

The planning permission was sought with the permission of the HSE’s Estates Manager Ed Fen- nell and was received by Wexford County Council towards the end of last month. A pre-connection enquiry has also been made to Irish Water. The council are expected to make a decision on the matter in the coming weeks.
