Players to take show on tour of pubs
WHILE the Irish pub can often be the scene of some drama or other, that will most definitely be the case in the coming weeks as Enniscorthy Drama Group stages its unique new venture in pubs across Enniscorthy.
‘Well, Anything Quare?’ is a comedy play set in a rural pub and it will be on somewhat of a mini-tour of some of Enniscorthy’s best loved establish- ments over the next couple of weeks.
Focusing on ‘pub craic’ the play is set in August of this year and features plenty of current events being debated by ‘ the boys’ and ‘ the women’.
In short, it’s a play about a pub, performed in a pub and using a pub as the set!
The show will get underway in Doyle’s of The Duffry this Wednesday, November 7, followed by Holohan’s in Slaney Place on Thursday. Next week, the group will stage the play in Donohoes of the Duffry on Thursday, November 15, followed by a final showing in the IFA Centre on Mill Park Road on Friday, November 16.
The show kicks off at 8 p.m. nightly and, as you might imagine, drinks will be served before and after the performance as well as during the two intervals between acts. With adult humour throughout, the show is strictly over 18s and tickets are now available for €10 from each venue.
A really imaginative idea, the Drama Group are hoping to gain significant support for this venture and all are encouraged to come along for a good laugh.
