FORD FEST

The proceeds of the recent Ford Fest were presented during the week by Raymond Byrne to the Craanford Community Field Trust. The cheque for €14,010 was accepted on behalf of the trust by its chairman Ger Doran.

All present on the evening including Cllrs Anthony Donohue and Malcolm Byrne agreed that this selfless contributi­on by Raymond in organising the Ford Fest leaves us all in awe of his contributi­on to the community. James Doyle thanked Raymond and his many helpers who contribute­d to the organising of the weekend and the fun had.

James thanked everyone who supported the Ford Fest and who helped in any way to make it such a success. In three years this festival has contribute­d over €32,000 to the community. Thank you Raymond for your foresight, vision and determinat­ion to make things happen.

CRAANFORD REMEMBERS 1918-2018.

A commemorat­ion service will be held in Craanford on Sunday, November 11, at 10.30 Mass to commemorat­e the end of World War one. Following Mass there will be a parade to the graveyard led by a pipe. Wreaths will be laid at the monument. Refreshmen­ts will be served afterwards. Craanford annual Craft Fair

The annual craft fair takes place once again this year: Sunday, November 11, at 11 a.m. and will run till 3 p.m. approx.

Come along and get Christmas started.

CRAANFORD DRAMA GROUP

‘Craanford Drama Group will present the hilarious comedy; Don’t tell the wife by Sam Cree in Craanford Community Centre on Wednesday the 21st, Thursday the 22nd, Saturday and Sunday, November 24, and 25, at 8 p.m. This year’s play is directed by Brendan Doyle and the cast includes Maria McCann, Margaret Nolan, Pat Berney, Ger Doran, Paula Darcy, Séamus Burnell, Patrick Lennon and Hannah Doyle. This year’s production is certainly not to be missed and promises to be a hit with all the whole family.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

The Craanford parents’ associatio­n AGM will take place on Tuesday, November 20, at 7.30 p.m. in the community centre. All parents are welcome.

The Monaseed parents’ associatio­n AGM will take place on Tuesday, November 13, at 7.30 p.m. in Monaseed National School. All parents are welcome.

HUNT TABLE QUIZ

The Glandoran Island Hunt table quiz will take place on Friday, November 16, at 8 p.m., in the Loch Garman Arms. Table of four €40. Cash prizes for the winning team and a raffle on the night. Everyone is welcome.

COISTE NA NÓG/ CAMOGIE AGM

Craanford Coiste na nÓg and camogie AGM will take place on Friday, November 23, at 8 p.m. in the Sports Complex. Nomination­s and Motions for camogie to Noel by 13th. Nomination­s and motions to Caroline for underage by the 13th.

BINGO

Bingo will be held Craanford Hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m.

SPLIT-THE-POT

On October 26 the prize of €153 was won by John and Elaine Byrne, Island. Congratula­tions John and Elaine. The coordinati­ng team for Friday, November 9, is Team 7: Liz Byrne and James Doyle.

CHURCH NEWS

Craanford Masses this week will be from Monday to Thursday at 9.15 a.m. Wednesday will be the monthly Mass with the St Patrick’s School community and as it is November we will remember our beloved dead. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Monday from 9.45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visits to sick and Housebound: Fr Richard will make his November visits to the sick and housebound on Tuesday morning, November 6. If you would like to add a name to the list please phone 087 6923280.

Enrolment for First Communion will be at Mass on Saturday, November 10, at 6 p.m. Our Children’s Choir will provide the sacred music.

GAA CLUB NEWS

The underage AGM is on in the sports complex on Friday, November 23, at 8 p.m. while the camogie AGM will be held after this at 9 p.m. also in the sports complex.
