MUINTIR NA TÍRE AGM

Askamore/Muintir na Tire annual general meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 13, at 8 p.m. in Askamore Activity Centre. We would encourage all members of the community to attend.

FIRST AID COURSE

First aid course in Askamore Activity Centre begins next Monday evening and on the following dates – Mondays fifth – 12th – November 19. Course trainer: Shane Dunphy from AMPM Safety Training. RISE AND SHINE WALK

Coláiste Bhríde’s ‘Rise and Shine’ walk up Sliabh Bhuí, will take place on Friday, November 9, at 6 a.m. Students will be walking back to school. Motorists, please be vigilant on the main road from Askamore to Carnew.

CAMOGIE CLUB CONCERT

GOLDEN YEARS PARTY

ARTIST EXHIBITION

An art exhibition by local artist will run from November 22 to November 25 in Askamore Communty Centre. This eagerly anticipate­d exhibition will display the works of local artists in a variety of mediums – painting, jewelry, sculpture, selting etc. Doors open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to Sunday.

KILRUSH-ASKAMORE GAA

There was no winner of the latest lotto draw. The numbers were 8, 13, 27 and 30. Lucky-dip winners were Jackie Tighe, the Mac.

Sweeney Family, Mary O’Neill and Eddie Cooney. Jason Redmond won the Sellers’ Prize. The next draw will be held in Codd’s, Kilrush tonight Tuesday, November 6, and the jackpot is now €5,100. €2 tickets are available from club members and players.

The club will hold its AGM on Sunday, November 25, in the clubhouse at 7 p.m.

CLONEE LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Well done to our under-14 and under-16 teams on their recent county final wins.

Our club AGM will be held on Friday, November 16, at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse.

CARNEW MUSICAL SOCIETY

Just a few more weeks for the cast and crew of Carnew Musical Society to put the polishing touches on their 52nd production, My Fair Lady based on Pygmalion by George B Shaw, book and lyrics – Lerner and Loewe.

The show will be performed in St Brigid’s Hall, Carnew from Monday, November 26 – Saturday, December 1. Coupled with a great storyline the show includes many favourites including, Wouldn’t it be loverly, I could have danced all night, Get me to the church on time, The Ascot Gavotte, On the Street where you live and With a little bit of luck to name but a few. Priority Booking, sponsor and Super Sponsor Tickets are now available.

Would you like to support? The cost of staging musicals is very high and Carnew Musical Society would not be in a position to stage Musicals without the continued support of local businesses and patrons for their sponsorshi­p and patronage. Priority Booking tickets (which replaces the Associate Membership ticket) will be available from all committee and cast members at a cost of €17 each and will entitle you to priority booking for each seat purchased.

If you would like to sponsor, a sponsor ticket will cost €40 and will admit two people and sponsors will have their names listed in the programme. Super Sponsor tickets are also available and please do contact us for more informatio­n about becoming a super sponsor.
