Ferns Bowling is in great shape. Two mats are playing every Wednesday. The league is up and running now and this week the Ferns Warriors are playing Oulart – Fred Warren, Charlie Christophe­r, Joe Murphy and Johnny McClean.

The Ferns Fighters are playing New Ross – John Francis, Ray Flick, Sam Brickley and Pat Nolan. Everyone enjoys the game. Any new members wanting to join please contact any if the team members. All members wish Pat Nolan well when he undergoes surgery.

CLONEE LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Well done to our under-14 and under-16 teams on their recent county final wins. Our club AGM will be held on Friday, November 16, at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse.

PARISH CONCERT

The annual St Aidan’s Parish Concert ill take place this year on Wednesday, November 14, at 8 p.m. in St Aidan’s church. Doors will open at 7.15 p.m. Concert will be made up by John McNicholl, Olivia Douglas and Theresa and the Stars and promises to be a great night.

Tickets are €10 available on the night, through the parish office and from any member of Ferns parish council. Your support greatly appreciate­d.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 8, at 2 p.m. in the School Library. Make sure your name is on the list and the deposit paid for the winter break to Kilkenny on November 19 and 20. A limited number of places still available.

Our guest speaker, Martin Redmond, a fitness and injury specialist, will guide us to a healthier life style.
