Race night is an odds-on winner for Community Workshop
BUTLER’S Pub in Broadway was the venue for a cheque presentation to County Wexford Community Workshop (CWCW) following a very successful race night in the venue.
The initiative raised a massive €7,225 for the organisation much to the delight of everyone concerned.
The organisers thanked the people who supported the event and the high level of enthusiasm for it locally was underlined by the amount of money raised.
The cheque was presented to Trevor Jacob and Winnie Goucher, from CWCW, and they expressed gratitude to the venue and to the people who helped raise the money.
The race night attracted a large crowd and the organisers were very happy with the turnout.
The CWCW works with people with disabilities throughout the county and provides support services to them and their families. It works under an ethos of providing training for disabled people suitable for competitive employment and it also provides sheltered work for those not capable of meeting the normal demands of industry.
Perhaps the most fundamental goal of the organisation is to enable people with disabilities to live the life of their choice to their full potential.
The money raised at the race night in Butler’s Pub helps the organisation to continue its work across the county.
