Carlow to mark ’68

-

OFFICERS OF the Wexford Association in Carlow have lined up another night of celebration for the All-Ireland winning county hurling team of 1968. The Lord Bagenal Hotel in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow, is the venue for the event on Saturday, December 1, and it is hoped that as many surviving members as possible from that talented group will be able to attend.

Of course, the night will be tinged with some sadness given the recent passing of the late Tom Neville, a long-time resident of Carlow town and one of the star defenders on that team.

Dinner will be served at 8 p.m. sharp, with dancing afterwards to Wexford band Slaney Mist.

Tickets cost €25 and are available direct from the Lord Bagenal Hotel, from Carpenter’s Bar in Carlow, or by contacting Tom O’Keeffe of the Wexford Carlow Association (087-2070652).
