Significant water leak is now fixed
THE members of Enniscorthy Municipal District Council were informed at their recent meeting that a significant leak in the local water system had resulted in around 22 per cent of water escaping from the supply.
Senior Executive Engineers, Tadhg O’Corcora, said the leak was traced back to Fr Murphy Park and had been rectified.
‘We found a significant leak in Fr Murphy Park but it’s now back to normal,’ said Mr O’Corcora at the meeting.
In response to Cllr Paddy Kavanagh asking how significant the leak was Mr O’Corcora replied that 22 per cent of the supply was being lost ‘in that one location’.
‘We had to search the whole lower end of the town to find it,’ said Mr O’Corcora.
District Manager Liz Hore acknowledged the assistance of business and home owners in facilitating the local authority staff in their the search for the leak.
‘It was difficult,’ said Mr O’Corcora before confirming to Cllr Kavanagh that there were no more leaks.
