WEXFORD PEOPLE WEXFORD ON ICE. It’s time to get your skates on as the Wexford People Wexford on Ice skating rink will be open every day on the quayfront in Wexford town until January 6 next year, with the exception of Christmas Day, allowing people to show off their skating skills while admiring a panoramic view over the harbour before enjoying a coffee or festive hot chocolate from the Coffee Dock cafe. If you are nervous or a first time skater don’t worry as there are stability aids to help you. Skating is like cycling and you’re safer wearing a helmet so feel free to bring your own. There are a limited number of helmets for skaters to hire at the ice rink. Sensory and wheelchair family skate sessions take place every Saturday morning from 10 a. m. to 11 a.m. and are free. During these sessions parents and guardians can join their children without skates and wheelchair users can take their wheels directly onto the ice. Wexford on Ice is available for group gookings for birthday parties, school and staff outings. Bookings through the wexfordwinterland.com website.
