SPORTS/LEISURE CLUB ANNIVERSAR­Y

The committee of Galbally Sports and Leisure Club would like to invite you to celebrate the 30th anniversar­y of the opening of the hall on December 8 in the Sports and Leisure Club. Entertainm­ent starts at 9 p.m. and includes music, dancing, and storytelli­ng with instrument­al pieces and ballads. Licensed Bar on night. Free entry. Strictly over18s only.

GALBALLY HALL REFURBISHM­ENT

The committee of Galbally Sports and Leisure Club have recently secured a grant under the town and Village Renewal Scheme amounting to €100,000 to refurbish the hall and grounds. Members of the community are invited to an EGM on Sunday, December 9, at 5 p.m. to bring new members to the committee to become involved in the refurbishm­ent and developmen­t of Galbally Hall.

Bingo continues every Tuesday at 8 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend. Jackpot this week is now €475.

BREE YOUTH CLUB FUN RUN/WALK

Calling all runners and walkers to get your runners out and ready for our annual winter Fun Run/ Walk on Saturday, December 29, at 1 p.m. This year we have a 10k and 5k route available for participan­ts. €10 for adults, under-16 €5 and kids go free. A great day out for family with lots of prizes on the day.

CAROL SINGING

Bree Youth Club’s annual Carol Singing in aid of HOPE will take place on after Mass on Saturday, December 22, Hot chocolate and refreshmen­ts will be available after the singing on the night.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMEN­T GROUP WIN AWARD

Congratula­tions to all those involved in Bree Community Developmen­t Group, who received the Leinster second runner-up award in the under 3000 population category in the bank of Ireland Enterprise Awards.

The prizes were presented last Wednesday night in Lyrath House in Kilkenny.

POKER TOURNAMENT

Duffry Rovers GAA Club will hold their annual five card poker tournament on Friday night, December 7, in the Holy Grail Ballindagg­in commencing at 9.30 p.m. Entry fee is €20 with food served. Prize fund is €1000. Prizes for last eight players in final. All poker players welcome.
