Monageer woman is banned from driving for motoring offence

-

A FOUR-YEAR driving ban was handed down to Marie Murphy of 4 the Grove in Monageer as she pleaded guilty to her second motor insurance offence.

The District Court learned that Ms Murphy was on the road without cover at Blackstoops on August 23 last year.

It emerged that she had a previous, similar conviction for an offence committed during 2016.

Solicitor Caitriona Walsh stated that her client was remorseful and pointed out that the defendant had been driving for 20 years without difficulty.

She was described a separated mother of four and in full time employment.

The four year ban imposed by Judge Gerard Haughton came with a €400 fine.
