Handbag is stolen in Davidstown driveway
GARDAÍ have warned people living in the Davidstown area to be wary after an incident on Saturday which saw a handbag stolen from a woman in her 60s as she exited her car at her home.
The incident took place at a house at Plummers Cross at around 6 p.m. The woman was getting out of her car in her driveway, when she was approached by a man who pulled open the passenger door before snatching her handbag and fleeing.
A garda spokesman said that thankfully there were no aggravating factors in the theft and the woman was uninjured, however, it proved a frightening experience and was a cause for concern. A text alert was also sent out to residents in the area urging them to take care and an investigation is currently under way.
The text alert scheme in the area has been busy in recent weeks following a number of thefts and break-ins. Gardaí are urging people to exercise caution and to report any suspicious activity in the area to Enniscorthy Garda Station.
