Guy and Laura forge new sound in unique concert
A UNIQUE Christmas event will take place at the Crannóg in the Irish National Heritage Park at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 16.
‘Sounding Seams’ is billed as a sonic and sculptural exploration of metal by Laura Hyland and Guy Urbin, involving a concert from Laura’s band Clang Sayne, interspersed with a forgery demonstration by Guy. Mince pies and mulled wine will be. served.
The project received funding from Creative Ireland and Wexford County Council’s Arts Office.
In September 2018 the National Heritage Park commissioned an artistic project between artist-composer, Laura Hyland, and craftsman and blacksmith Guy Urbin.
Laura Hyland is an artist and composer from South County Wexford. Her work, spanning music composition, sound improvisation, sonic sculpture, and arts participation, has been described as ‘exhilarating in its refusal to conform’.
Guy Urbin is a French-born, Wexford-based blacksmith and sculptor. He is a resident craftsman at the Heritage Park, and has exhibited his metal sculptures nationally and internationally.
