GAA NOTES

The Coiste na nÓg reported that the underage section of the club is in a healthy state going forward into 2019 with a total of 16 people attending. First Joe Cullen addressed the members, the chairman thanked a number of helpers, the coaches, the adult club and of course Noleen and Michelle. He stated that he had overall two proud days this year, the minors reaching the under-17 county semi-final and the grand opening of the indoor arena.

The secretary Michelle Curran also thanked everyone for their help while Noleen Murphy reported that the finances are in a healthy state going forward with a number of good fundraisers during the year which were well supported. St Brigid’s Blackwater Adult club annual general meeting will take place this Friday evening at 8.30 p.m. in Levers Bar, Blackwater. A chance to voice your opinion on next season for the green and gold.

The answer to last week’s question was Eddie Rowe, he scored two goals against Clongeen in 2004 in a hurling league final which even though both were probably inside the small rectangular area but the referee allowed both goals due to the fact that there was no square marked out. This week’s question, who scored the last minute goal in the 1975 Junior County Final victory against St Patrick’s?
