SPLIT-THE-POT

On Friday, November 30, the winners of split-the-pot were Daire and Aobha Lancaster winning €175. We thank everyone for supporting split-the-pot. The winners of this week’s seller’s prizes and bonus prizes are Rhys Moules {Junior/senior infants), Blake Balfe (first and fourth class), Ciara Mooney Doyle (second and third class) and Cian Lancaster (fifth and sixth class). Well done to all. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Masses in Askamore Church. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.

FIRST AID COURSE

The first aid course in Askamore Activity Centre which was held in November last was very well attended and all agreed it was worthwhile and very informativ­e. A number of people have expressed an interest in doing this certified course, given by Shane Dunphy, AMPM Safety Training. Shane has been booked to give another course in January, dates to be decided. This course will be held on Tuesday evenings and bookings are now been taken. ART EXHIBITION

Donations to arts and Disability Ireland given at the recent Arts Exhibition amounted to €120. Thank you to all who came to the exhibition and donated. See Gorey Guardian this week for report and pictures of this great event.

FINCHES FITNESS

Pilates classes in Askamore at 8.45 a.m. every Wednesday followed by fitness classes at 10 a.m. and Fit for Anything group 11.15-12.15. Contact Declan at 086 8468165.

RURAL TRANSPORT.

The local link bus leaves Askamore Church car park at 9.30 a.m. every Tuesday morning and 9.45 on Saturday mornings. This is a vital link to Gorey for many people and we would encourage people to use the service as often as possible. Phone Willie – 087 2449167 – for more info.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of our lat- est lotto draw. The numbers were 10, 24, 31 and 32. The lucky-dip winners were Orla Murphy c/o Codd’s, Martin Hayden Snr., Kieran Kenny and Aidan Murphy. Ger Kinsella won the Seller’s Prize. The next draw is Tuesday, December 18, in Dunbar’s, Ferns, with the jackpot now €3,300. €2 tickets can be purchased from club players and members.

KILRUSH DRAMA GROUP

Carnew audiences will not have too long to wait to see more drama as Kilrush Drama Group will present their annual festival play in St Brigid’s Hall on February 15 and 17, 2019. Kilrush will present ‘The Steward of Christendo­m’ by Sebastian Barry.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER NIGHT

Kilrush camogie club invites you to their Christmas jumper night fundraiser in codds public house in Kilrush on Saturday night, December 22. A great night of music and fun to be had with a prize for the best Christmas jumper on the night plus door prizes. Donations on the door all support greatly appreciate­d.

The camogie club are running a second fundraiser on Saturday and Sunday, December 15/16 of December in Gorey. We are selling lines for to win a load of sticks and some bags of coal.
