Driver doing 117 km/h fined €300 and banned for year
A SPEEDING fine came with a 12 month driving ban for Jacek Dziadura, 1 Marsh Lane, New Ross as details of his licence were not available to the District Court sitting in Wexford.
The judge learned that Dziadura’s car was clocked at 117 km/h on the N25 at Carrigadaggan, Newbawn on May 28 earlier this year.
A fine of €300 was imposed in the absence of the accused along with the one year disqualification.
Speeding fines of €300 apiece were also recorded against:
• Arunas Medezius, Knocine Freight Services, Kilacree, Drinagh after his vehicle hit 92 km/h in the 80 km/h zone at Rathaspeck on April 13;
• Nicola Roche, 82 St Brendan’s Estate in Rosslare Harbour as her vehicle was clocked at 67 km/h on the Newtown Road in Wexford on March 17, breaking the 50 km/h limit;
• Richard Comerford, Ballingale, Taghmon whose vehicle’s speed was recorded at Ballytramon, Castlebridge on April 25 driven at 95 km/h in an 80 km/h zone;
• Ilie Mihai Matei, 5 Drumgoold Villas, Enniscorthy whose vehicle was timed at 96 km/h at Ballyknock, Ballymitty on May 27 where an 80 km/h limit is in force;
• Pat Kelly from Carley’s Bridge, Enniscorthy who was prosecuted as owner of a vehicle detected travelling at 90 km/h in the 80 km/h zone at Ballyknock, Ballymitty on March 19.
None of the accused drivers appeared before Judge Gerard Haughton but Rita Griscenkoviene, 1 Ban na Cheila, Cassagh, New Ross was present.
She accepted that she exceeded the 80 km/h limit at Tracystown East, in Cleariestown on November 18 last year when she drove at 104 km/h. She was docked €160 by way of a fine.
