A Wexford company has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s National Small Business awards organised by the Small Firms Association (SFA).

NP Liquid Glass Systems, which is based in the Faythe area of Wexford town, has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Small Business category.

The announcement was made by the Chairperson of the SFA, Sue O’Neill, who is also the Chairperson of the judging panel.

She said the aim of the awards are to celebrate the achievements of small businesses in Ireland and to recognise the contribution of the small business sector to Irish industry.

‘The response to the awards programme serves as a reminder that Irish small companies are resilient, putting their best foot forward and seeking recognition for their efforts,’ said Ms O’Neill.

There will be seven categories contested in addition to five of the best emerging new businesses featured in the finals and on the evidence so far Ms O’Neill said entrepreneurship is ‘alive and well’ in Ireland.

The awards scheme is being held for the 15th year and Ms O’Neill said they are a celebration of the achievements of 245,000 small firms in Ireland which collectively employ 700,000 people.

The awards aim to promote excellence, achievement and innovation amongst small businesses in all sectors and parts of the country. The companies that have been announced as finalists this year represent all that is good about small business” said O’Neill.
