Bree-Galbally CHRISTMAS MASSES

Mass in Bree on Christmas Eve is at 8 p.m. Christmas Morning Mass is at 10 a.m. Mass in Galbally on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. and in Ballyhogue at 8 p.m. Mass in Galbally on Christmas morning at 10 a.m.

BREE YOUTH CLUB AGM

Bree Youth Club will hold their AGM on Thursday, December 20, at 8.30 p.m. in Bree Community Centre. We hope to see everyone there. We are also looking for adult volunteers to help with a couple of supervisio­n nights throughout the year. If interested please contact any of our committee members for details.

BREE ACTIVE RETIRED

The Christmas Lunch for Bree Active Retired is booked for tomorrow, Wednesday, December 19, in the Riverside. Enquiries to 086 0747823.

BREE BINGO

Bingo on Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Gary Byrnes. All ages are welcome to attend. Jackpot this week is now at €525. For this week we will have extra prizes on the night including a hamper. All money raised from single sheet with be given back and split between a line, two lines and full house.

FUN RUN/WALK

Calling all runners and walkers to get your runners out and ready for our annual winter Fun Run/ Walk on Saturday, December 29, at 1 p.m. This year we have a 10k and 5k route available for participan­ts. €10 for adults, under-16 €5 and kids go free. A great day out for family with lots of prizes on the day.

CAROL SINGING

Bree Youth Club’s annual Carol Singing in aid of HOPE will take place after Mass on Saturday, December 22, Hot chocolate and refreshmen­ts will be available afterwards.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife, son, daughters, relations and friends of Jimmy Kennedy, Bree, who died recently. His remains were interred in Bree on Monday of last week. Sincere sympathy is also extended to the wife, son, daughters, relations and friends of Peter Byrne, Curraghnab­oola, who died last Thursday. His remains were interred in Bree on Saturday.

WALKING TRAILS

Saturday, January 12, 2019, is National Walk Day and Bree Hill Walking Trails have been invited by Wexford Walking Trails to host a walk on Bree Hill. This walk will be part of Operation Transforma­tion and is aimed at encouragin­g people of all ages to get out and walk. The walk will start at 11 a.m. from Bree Community Centre and will be 4.6km long, with the option of an alternativ­e 7km also. We look forward to seeing you there.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMEN­T GROUP

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a 75% grant towards the cost of Phase Two of our Community Playground from Wexford Local Developmen­t. Work should commence in the New Year leading to a wonderful facility catering for children of all ages. As this is a community facility we would appreciate if people from the community would join a working group for the running and maintenanc­e of the playground. We as a group need to raise 25% which will be about €12,000.

A big thank you to the staff of Brí Beag who have already donated €2,000 to the project, sponsorshi­p from their Dancers and Chancers exploits. We hope to call a meeting in the new year and would encourage you to join.

CAIM MEN’S SHED

Caim Men’s Shed presented Caim National School with some Buddy Benches and Mushrooms to decorate the School yard. The Men’s Shed is closed now and will re open in mid January. Happy Christmas everyone.

Clonroche-Poulpeasty VINTAGE CLUB

Clonroche-Poulpeasty Vintage Club will hold their annual Tractor run on St Stephen’s Day commencing at 12.00 from Clonroche Community Centre, The vintage club will be donating funds to the local Meals on Wheels contact Mikie Ryan or Leo Tector for more details.

CLOUGHBAWN GAA

The club charity event was postponed at the weekend due to weather conditions, it will now be held on January 4 at 7.30 the fundraiser event featuring four hurling teams with a twist. Over-30s! Great fundraiser for Aoibheanns Pink Tie and #TEAMJANGO. Other activities include the Cloughbawn winning team of 1993 competing in a Long Puck Comp.. Underage players competing in a crossbar challenge.. Come along and support this worthy charity and enjoy the games.

Results of the Leinster Scór na nÓg semi-final held in Allenwood Co. Kildare, Both items from Cloughbawn were successful, Aithriseoi­reacht or storytelli­ng Aoibhinn Cooper, and our dancers in Rince Foirne: are Lisa Murphy, Caoimhe Quigley, Nathan McDonald, Cormac Cooper, Aoibhinn Cooper, Bridin Quigley and Phena Quigley.

Kiltealy-Ballindagg­in GALA CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Join us for an evening of song and music in Kiltealy Church on Sunday, December 30, at 7 p.m. Tickets are €10 and include a post concert mulled wine and cheese reception in the Thatch (reception is for adults only). KILTEALY VOLUNTARY CARDIAC RESPONSE.

Kiltealy Voluntary Cardiac Response would like to thank everyone who supported or helped out in any way at their recent Christmas craft fair, to all local businesses, crafters and members of the local community who donated wonderful prizes to the raffle. To all who attended on the day we thank you for your support and generosity it was greatly appreciate­d. The total sum raised on the day including donations was €1,721.62. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year.

DUFFRY ROVERS POKER CLASSIC

Duffry Rovers GAA Club would like to thank all the poker players and those who attended the poker classic in the Holy Grail on December 7 A special word of thanks to the Holy Grail for use of their function room and for the food on the night.

BALLINDAGG­IN STORY HOUSE

There was a wonderful festive atmosphere at the Ballindagg­in story house on Thursday last with Christmas carols, hymns, songs and hauntingly beautiful music from slow airs to rousing marches and tall tales. People, who passed away during the year were remembered as was all who are unwell at present. A warm welcome back was extended to all who were ill recently.

The three door prizes on the night was won by Bernie White; Geraldine Loughrey and Anne Quigley.
