BALLYOUGHTER REMEMBRANCE TREE
Ballyoughter parents’ association Presents: our Remembrance Tree. Purchase a bauble to remember your loved ones this Christmas, baubles will be placed on the tree in Sacred Heart Church Ballyoughter. A special Remembrance Mass will be held in Ballyoughter on December 23 at 9.45 a.m. Refreshments served in the school afterwards. Baubles are available to purchase from Ballyoughter school, local businesses or by contacting 087 6345789. Cost of baubles is €2 each or three for €5. Your support is greatly appreciated and all proceeds go direct- ly towards building an outdoor shelter for the school kids.
PIKE INN REUNION
Anyone that drank in the Pike Inn, Camolin in the last 80 years (and those that were never in it before) are invited to a reunion in the Pike Inn on December 15 after Mass. There will beomplimentary tea or coffee with the Pike Inn speciality sandwiches, spot prizes, live auction and a raffle. The oldest customer of the Pike Inn will be there. Come along and enjoy the night singing along to DJ Mouse’s 80’s music. The Bar and Pool area are re-opening after a 20-year closure. Proceeds going towards St Patrick’s Scor na nÓg and the establishment of a St Patrick’s Girls’ Football Club.

Ballygarrett SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT
This year, the pupils of St Mary’s NS Ballygarrett are putting on a ‘Variety Christmas Concert’ on December 18 and 19 in Réalt na Mara GAA Complex. It promises to be a festive night full of the joys of the Christmas season with performances from all the classes. Tickets are available from the school and on each night. All money raised are to help the playground development of the school. Starts at 7 p.m.

Kilmuckridge CHRISTMAS FAIR THANKS
We wish to thank a all the children and families that donated their toys and clothes to the Charity Christmas Fair. We raised €2,000 for the Laura
Lynn Foundation and St Vincent de Paul collected the remaining items to give to families in need over Christmas.
SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Peg Murphy, Ballymacsimon, Kilmuckridge and formerly Ballinelland, Blackwater, who died recently. Beloved wife of the late Tom and sister of the late Josie. Peg will be sadly missed by her cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
DRAMA FESTIVAL
The KMH was full to capacity for all three nights last weekend for the all-Ireland One Act Drama Festival. Adjudicator Imelda mc Donagh, who has been involved in Theatre for many years, was very impressed at how high the standard was. Mr Michael Stafford opened the festival and was joined on stage by committee members, Mr Aden Reddy chairman ADCI, Mr Jackie Scanlan chairman DLI and adjudicator Imelda McDonagh. Eleven plays were performed by 11 groups in what was a wonderful weekend of drama.
The results are as follows: Open Section: First place the Moat Club Naas, Whats left of the Flag. Second the Palace Players, Wheres One Malabar. Third Bradan Players, Aubade. Confined Section: first place Gunpowder productions, Wittgenstein in the West. second New Ross Drama Workshop, Spectre. Bailieborough Drama Group, Smile Handsome. Open Section: Best Performance Brian McCarthy, The Moat Club Naas. Confined: Best Performance – Liz O’Hanlon, Bailieborough DG Adjudicators: John Lennon, The Moat Club Naas. The festival concluded on Sunday night and the prize giving took place in the Upton Court Hotel.
COLÁISTE AN ÁTHA
Festive spirit filled the night air in Kilmuckridge on Friday evening as the Coláiste an Átha Transition Year and LCA classes hosted their third annual Christmas market. Principal Ms Elizabeth Martin remarked that the market is one of the ‘highlights of our school calendar’ and this year was no different.
Budding TY entrepreneurs impressed visitors with an array of beautiful handmade gifts and crafts and the talented Coláiste an Átha choir entertained the crowds with popular Christmas favourites. The LCAs enticed shoppers to try their delicious hot chocolate and freshly baked festive cookies. Ms Claire Carroll, an enterprise teacher in Coláiste an Átha, was delighted that all the students’ hard work had paid off stating that ‘the event provides important experience for the students for the upcoming Wexford Enterprise competition’.
Coláiste an Átha welcomed a host of outside vendors selling their handmade products and the school was delighted to include enterprise students from other Wexford schools. They also welcomed fundraising stalls from the Irish Cancer Society and Sue Ryder Foundation on the night. Students organised face painting, a knock a block carnival game and the parents’ association hosted a treasure hunt. The ever popular Elf Shooting Gallery return to the delight of the younger guests.
Sincere thanks went to the community for their continued support; the local business owners for donating the raffle prizes; the staff and students for all their hard work; Wexford Green Cert for sponsoring new lights; the parents’ association; and especially caretaker David and the LCA II students for helping to ensure the gym was perfect on the night.

A Trolley Dash will be held on Sunday, December 23, at Hammels Centra, lines will be sold for this outside the shop over the coming weekends.

The Classic offers some of the best prizemoney and has become a firm favourite with card sharks in county. There will be a door prize courtesy of Hammels Centra Kilmuckridge.
The final placings last year were Thompson Byrne, Mick Butler, Tom Byrne, Jimmy Kennedy jnr Nellie Farrell and Paul Doran. All these players have complimentary entry to this year’s event. Jimmy Doyle had the first Poker and there was no Straight flush or Royal flush. There will be refreshments served and the Bar will be running promotions on the night.
Monamolin SVP CHRISTMAS COLLECTION
A big thanks to all who gave so generously last weekend to the St Vincent de Paul collection in Monamolin. The money collected was €350.95. A big thanks to the collectors for their help every year.

DEATH
Sincere sympathy is extended to the Earle family, Cullentra on the death of Margaret’s father, Edward Kidd, Tullow, who died on Wednesday, December 12. Burial took place on Friday, December 14.
