Bench warrant is issued for man’s arrest

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Darren Morgan ( 24) of Killala, Blackwater, after he failed to appear before the District Court in relation to public order charges.

Morgan was charged with being intoxicated in public and engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour at Templeshannon on December 27 last. Sgt Gary Raynor indicated earlier in the day that Morgan had been in touch and had said that he would be in court, but he was running late.

However, as the day came to a conclusion, there was still no sign of the defendant, so gardaí requested a bench warrant be issued for his arrest. Judge Haughton agreed to this.
