Davidstown man is charged with assaulting three women
A Davidstown man appeared before Judge Gerard Haughton last week charged with a vicious assault on three women at a house in Enniscorthy.
Christopher Sharkey (28) of 8 Cloney Park, Davidstown, was charged with assault causing harm to Emma Foley and also assaulting Marie Busher and Petrina Busher at Ballinahallin, Enniscorthy, on September 30 last.
When asked to give a brief outline of the facts, Sgt Gary Raynor told the court it was alleged that Sharkey had called to the house at around 4 p.m. on the day in question. He said, it was alleged that Sharkey punched the injured party in the head, dragged her to the ground and kicked and stamped on her. He said that the two other women had tried to intervene and were allegedly assaulted themselves and knocked to the ground.
Upon hearing this, Judge Gerard Haughton agreed to accept jurisdiction and hear the case in the District Court. Solicitor Lana Doherty made a Gary Doyle Order to be furnished with the evidence against her client and the case was adjourned until February 20.
