Poker faces all round at Buffers Alley fundraiser
Paddy Kinsella from Clogh was the overall winner of the ninth annual Poker Classic held in Buffers Alley on Saturday night.
Mary Foley, PRO for Buffers Alley GAA Club, said Paddy had a great run of cards on the final table which saw him edge out Pat Donnellan from Ballygarrett and Nellie Farrell from Bunclody in the final few hands.
The final placings were Paddy Kinsella, Pat Donnellan, Nellie Farrell, Aidan Leacy, Paddy Breen and Tess Enright. Nellie was on the final table as well last year.
Aidan Leacy, a regular to the annual Poker Classic, was also winner of the first poker, but there were no winners of the straight or royal flush.
‘Paul Doran won the door prize which was kindly sponsored by Hamell’s Centra Kilmuckridge,’ added Mary.
MC on the night was once again Ben Martin and the club is very appreciative of his loyal support. The committee thanked all those who came along on the night in such large numbers to play cards, the club members who supplied refreshments and a special thank you to Shay Hammell for his generous sponsorship.
The Poker Classic committee are also thankful to Brendan Roche of the local primary school for the use of furniture for the night of the event. Mary said they are looking forward to a bigger and better Poker Classic 2019.
