Wexford Chamber Skillnet awarded additional funding for 2019

-

THE announcement that Wexford Chamber Skillnet has been approved for additional funding in 2019 has been welcomed by Wexford businesses.

In 2018 Wexford Chamber Skillnet worked with over 260 Wexford companies, upskilling over 800 of their staff in a broad variety of training programmes. The Network has continued to grow and develop since joining Skillnet Ireland in 2016, offering subsidised courses to companies in the south east region. All programmes are delivered as a result of continued cooperation and participation from enterprises in the region.

Wexford Chamber Skillnet has unveiled their training programme for the coming spring with the inclusion of a number of new programmes. The Network hopes to deliver a new part time Diploma in Management Effectiveness and Practice programme, tailored specifically for those in or seeking supervisory/management lead roles.

This programme provides a complementary set of modules, which allows the student to explore topics such as, human resource management, marketing management, team leadership and financial management. The programme consists of six modules, each delivered one day a week for three weeks. Students can exit with a standalone level 7 Certificate in any of the modules or complete the full set of six modules to receive their Diploma. The entire programme is delivered in fifteen days over 2019. For more information please log onto our website.

Another new programme included in this year’s schedule is the Nebosh Certificate in Environmental Management aimed at managers, supervisors and others who have responsibility for managing environmental issues, as part of their day to day duties. This is an internationally recognised and globally respected environmental management qualification, which is delivered over five days.

Due to continued demand from industry Wexford Chamber Skillnet will continue to offer programmes in Business Skills, Manufacturing & Safety in the Workplace, Hospitality & Food Safety courses, offering 20-25% funding.

This year the Network also hopes to deliver a Care Skills programme and a level 6 Childcare programme which will be 100% funded to unemployed people.
