Kehoe Memorial Trophy for Seamus

-

A FEATURE of the recent Gusserane O’Rahilly’s G.A.A. club A.G.M. was the inaugural presentation of the Paddy Kehoe Memorial Cup.

This fine piece of silverware was donated to the club by the Kehoe family of New Ross in remembrance of the late, great Paddy Kehoe.

Paddy, of course, had represented the O’Rahilly’s club as well as Wexford’s hurlers and footballers with unprecedented success through the 1940s and 1950s.

The club was always close to Paddy’s heart and it was decided that the clubperson of the year would be honoured with this perpetual trophy going forward.

A richly-deserving winner of the inaugural presentation was popular Kinnagh man and well-known Gael, Seamus Cullen.

A former stalwart of Gusserane football teams of the 1970s and 1980s, Seamus continues to work tirelessly and selflessly for the good of the club.

Paddy’s daughter, Julie, was on hand with her husband, Jackie, to present the impressive cup to Seamus.
