Good luck to our performers at the Leinster final of Scor na nÓg which will take place on Sunday, January 13, at 2 p.m. at the National Opera House in Wexford. We will be represente­d by the dancers in Rince Foirne: Our dancers are Lisa Murphy, Caoimhe Quigley, Nathan McDonald, Cormac Cooper, Aoibhinn Cooper, Bridin Quigley and Phena Quigley and Aoibhinn Cooper will also perform in the Aithriseoi­reacht.

VINTAGE SOCIETY

The Clonroche-Poulpeasty Vintage Society held their annual St Stephen’s Tractor run and funds were handed over to Meals on Wheels in Aughyvoir on Friday night last, Meals on Wheels would like to acknowledg­e the contributi­ons made and thank the members for all their support.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The local members of St Vincent de Paul would like to thank most sincerely the children and teachers of Donard NS who collected a large quantity of food prior to Christmas. This was an enormous help and was distribute­d to the local areas of Clonroche, Adamstown, Newbawn and Raheen.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The latest winner from splitthe-pot was Kathleen Doyle Castleboro, the pot was €206, remember all funds are used locally and envelopes can be bought in any of the local shops and businesses.

CLOUGHBAWN PARISH PARTY

Sunday, January 20, at 1 p.m. is designated for one of the high- lights of the social calendar – The Parish Party. With over 100 guests at last year’s’ event this year promises to surpass even that. An opportunit­y for social interactio­n amounts old friends and acquaintan­ces with good food and an evening’s entertainm­ent is something to look forward too and not to be missed.

PADDY MURPHY RIP

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Murphy, Donard. Formerly of Inch, Ballymurph­y, Co. Carlow, in his 87th year. Predecease­d by his loving wife Kathleen, grandson Cian and brother Pierce.

Sadly missed by his loving family, daughters Mary, Brigid, Bernie, Angela, sons Michael, Leo, Francis and PJ, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchild­ren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.
