ST CORMAC’S NEWS

So far this season, the men’s ‘A’ team, which was promoted last season, have played 12 games, won five, drawn five and lost only two. This leaves them in third place and in a good position to gain promotion to the top division.

The ‘B’ team are doing very well, on top of Division 5, having won eight of their 11 games, drawing one and losing only two. If they hold their nerve, this team could not only gain promotion but might also be in line for league honours.

The ladies’ team are doing even better, winning five of their six games and drawing the other. The promotion of the Youths coupled with the loss of five very experienced players, has given them a very difficult season so far. But they have seen a significant improvement in their results in the last few games. Despite the bad start to their season, they could still finish mid-table in the higher division.

Due to the weather and the League’s attitude to playing in inclement weather, the under-16s have only played two games so far this season, losing both unfortunately. Hopefully the New Year and the resumption of games will see them collect some points.

The under-14 girls’ team, which also gained promotion last season, are doing well, having won two of the four games they have played so far.

The under-13 boys who lie mid-table, having won two games, lost one and drawn two of their five games could well finish higher up the table at the end of the season.
