TIDY VILLAGE AGM

Clonegal Tidy Village Associatio­n will hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday, January 16, at 8 p.m., in St Brigid’s Hall, Clonegal. Everyone is welcome.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY

The village of Clonegal and the wider community was saddened to hear the death of Angela Fitzpatric­k (née O’Grady), St Brigid’s Tce, Clonegal, who passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Angela died peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Beloved wife of John and loving mother of Seán, Billy, Michael, Geraldine and Mary, sister of Phyllis-Ash and Lissie. Sadly missed by her husband, children, grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, sisters, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposed at Lennon’s Funeral Home, Bunclody. Removal to St Brigid’s Church, Clonegal for Funeral Mass, burial afterwards in the new cemetery. May she rest in peace.

DRAMA GROUP

Kildavin-Clonegal Drama Group are busy rehearsing their production of ‘The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley’ by Jimmy Keary the play will take to the stage on Saturday and Sunday, February 9, and 10, in Spellman Hall, Kildavin. So make a note in your diary where a night of entertainm­ent and laughter is guaranteed.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the Kildavin-Clonegal GAA lotto held on Monday, January 7. Numbers drawn were 1, 7, 20 and 21. Winner that matched three were, Lia Dunne, Clonegal, Liz Meredith, c/o A Kelly, Sinéad Gray and Mick Balfe, Clonegal, B Mitchel Graiguebeg and Ed O’Leary, c/o Ted O’Leary, all receiving €30 each. Seller’s prize goes to Carmel Gibson receiving €50. The next draw will take place in Ryan’s ‘The Moss House’, Bunclody on Sunday, January 20, a jackpot worth €7,400.

GRANDPAREN­TS DAY

Clonegal NS will celebrate grandparen­ts day on Wednesday, January 30. A ceremony will be held in St Bridget’s Church. After the ceremony, grandparen­ts will attend the school and talk to the children in the various classes followed by a cuppa.
